Peter is a registered Senior Social worker and qualified in August 2014. Peter has practice experience as a Local Authority social worker within Child Protection, Assessment and Intervention, Fostering and Looked After Children teams. Peter has supervised newly qualified social workers in front-line teams and has undertaken Practice Educator training. Prior to qualifying as a social worker, Peter worked as a Personal Advisor from 2007 within a Care Leaver’s Service, supporting young people between 16 and 25 years old to develop greater independence whilst exiting Local Authority care. Peter has also practiced as a qualified Counsellor with an accredited, Advanced Diploma in Humanistic Counselling. He has worked as a counsellor with adults in private practice, the prison service, drug and alcohol centres and community settings.
In addition to these roles, Peter has experience working in Local Authority Youth Support Services, completing direct work with young people and their families in areas such as youth offending, education/training/employment, homelessness, mental health and substance/alcohol abuse. Also, whilst training to become a social worker, Peter gained additional practice experience completing work within Local Authority Information Governance, Contact Supervision, Gypsy/Roma/Traveller and Unaccompanied Asylum Seeker teams
